The main objective of the PhD Programme in Sciences and Technologies for Sustainable Development is to train professional profiles capable of integrating sustainability expertise with the technical skills required by specific roles. The programme promotes a transdisciplinary approach aimed at acquiring new competencies to address the environmental, economic and social dimensions of sustainable development, in line with the SDGs of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

Climate, Energy and the Urban System
This track provides training and fundamental knowledge related to climate change and increasing pollution, as well as research on their impacts on ecosystems and territory. It also covers the energy transition, the decarbonisation of the economy, smart cities and urban planning, including mitigation and adaptation to climatic and environmental changes.

This track aims to develop skills to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy by innovating production models for goods and services across companies, economic activities and local authorities, while also promoting awareness of responsible consumption.

This track focuses on the impacts of climate, environmental, urban and economic changes on human health, migration, and inclusion processes within communities, supporting sustainable and equitable development.
